Pick the tools each role sees

Open the Team page. Give each person a role, like dev, qa or support.

Under "Tools for each role," turn tools on or off for each role. Then press Save.

QA and support have a "Use suggested tools" button. Support starts with Impersonate, Network and Events Timeline. QA gets those three plus React Query, Storage and Routes.

Their Buoy menu shows only the tools on their role's list. Your app's own tools always show.

If a tool is open when its role hides it, it closes. A role with no tools sees a note to ask the team admin.

Settings shows each person's role. On the Team page, people see their list under "Your tools."

A role set to "All tools" sees the full menu. When Buoy adds a new tool, it starts off for a role with a list.

A hidden tool only leaves the menu. It is not locked. Buoy Desktop and the MCP still see all of the app's tools.

People get a change at their next refresh, within 12 hours. To get it now, sign out and sign back in.

Roles come with a Buoy sign-in. A plain license key or a bot key shows the full menu.

Role tools work in React Native, web, Swift, Android, Flutter and MAUI.
